Concerts on HD
It’s a shame that there are a few live concerts that make its way to Blu-ray. The first time I fell in love with high definition was watching Mariah Carey’s The Adventures of Mimi Concert and that was just a DVD version upscaled using an HDMI cable and a DVD player. I haven’t had the chance to buy the Blu-ray version yet but I’m sure it’s much more stunning. FYI, that concert was shot in HD so you’ll still get the stunning quality even on a regular DVD player.
Anyways, I was looking for the Jagged Little Pill Live concert in Blu-ray as I’m going to give it as a gift to a fan but unfortunately, it seems that Alanis is not that popular anymore to qualify for a Blu-ray release. Too bad, I was able to catch that concert on DVD, sound directing was great. Maybe it was because they’re using Audix instrument microphones, one of the best in the business, which made acoustics on the concert come out great. It would have been a great concert to convert to Blu-ray considering that they had this interesting video directing which cuts between songs and then pans to a different scene. Too bad Alanis’ popularity didn’t make it to the Blu-ray era. But hey, maybe she’ll do a comeback and we’ll see more Blu-ray versions of her past concerts. But if you're raring for concerts on Blu-ray, you might want to try Shakira's Oral Fixation Tour, Justin Timberlake's FutureSex/LoveShow in Madison Garden, and Destiny's Child Live in Atlanta.
